  I've always loved this place for 20 years till my latest experience. I've had 2 pets regularly seen at this practice as have my parents with their dogs. I will be down sometime in the next 2 weeks to pick up my dog buddy Williams's records. I will be giving another practice the opportunity to win a new customer by actually caring about the well being of what I consider one of my family members.
  
  Buddy is almost 16 years old, he's a happy dog who goes crazy for food and attention. Howerver, he has had arthritis these late years of his life and contracted lyme disease a few years back, which adds to the pain and problems with his joints. He has been on Gabapentin to manage his pain for 16 months. Due to some confusion between crossroads and the pharmacy buddy had been receiving his monthly refills 4 months longer then he was supposed to. Upon calling to have his medication refilled it was discovered an error had been made in which case i called crossroads to find out why the bottle said he had 3 refills left but was unable refill it. I was informed buddy was due for his yearly and he should not have been receiving any refills for the last 4 months. I had no way of getting buddy down for at least 4 days and both myself and the pharmacy requested a short supply of no more than 4 days to give me time to have buddy seem. When I called i was given a bit of a run around by the receptionist. I was told I would be called back before the end of the day, which never happened. I requested to talk to the doctor which also never happened. Also the pharmacy made the request on buddy's behalf. They denied the request of the pharmacy. Giving crossroads the benefit of doubt, I waited till late for their call. I never received it. Upon not receiving any call or info from crossroads I called to find out what was going on. I was then informed by the receotionist he would not receive any meds until an appoint was made and he was seen for his yearly. What gets me is that they never made any effort to get back with me to inform me of their outrageous decision to allow Buddy to be in pain untill an open appointment and my schedule could mesh, which would of been within a few days! This was a pain maintenance medication he had been taking in low dosage for 16 months which had just ended abruptly with absolutely no warning. The fact that the pharmacy offered to requested a short supply tells me there are no legal restrictions prohibiting crossroads from filling that request, I'm pretty sure pharmacies don't make requests of doctors to break the law. I never expected this money hungry action and response from crossroads. Their display of total lack of responding, accountability and caring have completely changed my opinion of a once highly recomended by me practice. It's a shame that the perception i was left with is that the quick or immediate fees from another yearly, which would have come asap, we're more important than the comfort of an old dog in pain and keeping a long time customer as well as a good reputation.
  
  I hope this helps people looking for a veterinarian practice that will compasionatly care for a new addition or an old dog that is living on borrowed time
