  This is my personal opinion and experience from working with Jim Passe. The purpose of this review is to warn everyone so that they can avoid what happened to me. Again, this is my personal opinion and how I feel.
  
  First of all, to his credit, he has filed and managed to win a lot of patents for his clients. This is verified through the USPTO. You would be amazed how some patent attorneys do not even have one patent to their credit. So yes, he is experienced.
  
  But here are the issues.
  1. He is only experienced in certain industry. If you want to file a software based application, please go else where, as he has no clue what he is doing. I am not sure he has won any software based applications. If he has, I am not aware of it and neither did I see it among the list of patents he won for his clients.
  2. He is old school. Laws change so fast, and you need to be on top of it all the time. In my case, the guy did not even know about 101 rejections until my patent was rejected. The terminologies and languages he used for writing my patent was an object of joke for other attorneys who reviewed them.
  3. His strategy is to milk you as long as he can. My patent claims were very specific. And I insisted that it be kept specific. But his strategy is to claim the whole world. Of course the USPTO will reject such claims. And he will advice you that he will modify it and apply again. Because the more work he does, the more money he will make from you. Total rip off.
  4. When I got the first rejection, I was very concerned and got second opinions from two other attorneys, who confirmed to me what a terrible job he had done. Now if I have to apply again, I would have to spend money all over again.
  5. He will tell you things in person, and if you ask him to confirm it in writing, he will not. This should have been a red flag for me.
  
  Bottom line, I lost around $12,000 for nothing. Such a Fraud!
